Support a Local Tourist Host Family to Meet the Standards
We are looking for donations to help families with training and meet the basic requirements for our local tourist host families, which could also allow them to become Airbnb hosts.
We are committed to developing our villages and homes in the Tooro Kingdom to ensure that they can create comfortable, reliable stays for guests; we have tasked all hosts to meet at least five basic requirements for each listing:
- Be able to provide essential amenities: These may include soap, toilet paper, bedsheets or linens, a clean towel, and a pillow for every guest.
- Be as responsive as possible: our hosts must maintain a high response rate. This involves replying to booking inquiries and reservation requests within at least 24 hours.
- Endeavor to accept reservation requests: guests must feel welcome by accepting requests whenever they are available.
- Avoiding withdrawals: We know that our guest travel plans are pre-determined, and we take cancellations seriously. That’s why we would like to train all hosts to avoid canceling guests’ travel plans.
- Uphold a high overall evaluation: Visitors like to know they can expect consistent excellence. It does not matter where they have booed!
In order to do that, our low-income families in Sub-Saharan Africa require a bit of a boost to reach the standard before they can earn a living from this venture of hosting tourists and getting listed as Airbnb hosts.
